Sandy 'n John by Trippy4U Sandy 'n John by Trippy4U
Thank you kindly for taking the time to have a look.
I'm sincerely grateful for your support :peace:

The planet is dying and now its fighting back...for her life :(

I want to thank the many of you who are concerned for my well being. We are all safe in my family but a countless number of my fellow New Yorker's are in dire straights...their lives devastated by 14 foot high surges of water that has completely washed away their homes and loved ones all along the southern coast from Atlantic City, New Jersey to the tip of Long Island, New York. I thought I had seen everything after 911...how wrong I was. There are so many in need and so much to be done that I won't be on DA except from time to time until all are safe and we rebuild this beautiful city...as we always do each time it gets knocked on its ass.

Johnny Cash - Five Feet High And Rising
____________________________________
Well, the rails are washed out north of town
We gotta head for higher ground
We can't come back till the water goes down
Five feet high and risin'

I can not imagine what it is like living through such hell. And yet some how people pull themselves together & bravely start again. I always admire their strength & determination. Glad to know your well. :butterfly:

Strange how you can be living through a natural nightmare on one coast & having a picnic on the other. We forget so quickly, sad isn't it.

Yes Mother Nature is pissed alright:(I was hoping youd have some photos for us, and is that ship as massive as it seems?

Actually I thought the photo made it look a lot smaller than it really was. Yes it was a huge oil tanker just tossed out of the ocean onto the shore like a toy. I have more photos of it and many other of Sandy's carnage. But I chose to post only one. I think it tells the story.

I know...mother nature is pissed off. No stopping her when she gets in that mood.
Its home to me and my family for generation after generation after generation. Its a city whose interesting history is written each day. Never know whats going to come down the Pike.
Thank you so much Bass...you've visited?

My parents lived there for 10 years. I have visited many times. I have been there in all seasons and even when the blizzard of the century hit New York and all the streets were empty... I was walking through Manhattan at night with seven foot snow hills beside the roads.
My most fond memory is when I spent New Years Eve with my life partner then celebrating with the people of New York. We waltzed through Grand Central Station and went from one party to the next in town.

Ahh...very cool.

Ohh so cool...wasn't that an awesome storm...immobilized the city traffic for days. Such fun to ski down the streets with no cars.
I used to go to New Years at Times Square every year ever since I was a teenager but these days (post 911) they put people in pens and so since I'm not a cow headed for slaughter I don't go anymore. I'm not going to stand in a pen for hours. But after the ball drops that's when the real party begins anyway. Most of the people will leave the area...then the police break down the pens and freedom is restored as we can now roam the streets untethered to a pen.

It is truly a shame how much quality of life is lost because of such restrictions... I hope someday I will be able to waltz at Grand Central again. :)

When I saw on the tv about the typhoon that struck there, I thought about you as well as some other friends I have in America, and I'm really glad that you and your family are fine! Nature does take revenge, indeed! And I really believe that us and the next generations are gonna pay for our mistakes...I just hope we can get through this with the less damage possible.:worship::worship::worship:!!!:iconwineplz:

I was one of the lucky ones. Forty thousand homes were destroyed along the coast. This was no joke of a storm this time. No one, including me, believed it would be anything near what it was. Yep like you say...this isn't over yet. We fucked this planet up...badly and our kids kids will pay a dear price :(
Thank you Harris for your concern and support :highfive:
